Rug Care and Maintenance

We stand behind the rugs for any manufacturing defect.  Shedding is a natural Characteristic of Wool, particularly in new rugs, but this will reduce over time and will not affect your rug's performance.

Vacuum occasionally. Use Suction only, as rotating brushes may damage your rug. For best results vacuum from different directions making several passes over the area.  Remove spills immediately.  Blot spills with a clean dry cloth, do not rub. Specialist cleaning recommended for hard to remove stains.   Dry soil accumulation is capable of damaging face fibres so this should be done frequently and is the most import step of maintenance.

Avoid direct and continuous exposure to sunlight and use rug protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening piles.

Restorative cleaning should be performed by a professional carpet/rug service provider. Make certain that all solutions intended for deep cleaning are rated wool safe. Do not over wet the rug. Fans will reduce dry time. Avoid walking on the rug until 100% dry.

NOTE: All solutions intended for maintenance of wool rugs must be rated wool safe and neutral PH. Do not use spin bonnets or similar. This type of rotary action can severely distort the face yarn. Hard surface cleaners should not be over sprayed onto the rug. These cleaners generally have a very high PH which may cause damage, leave residue, fading, color loss and or rapid re-soiling. If hard surface cleaner is applied to the rug by accident, rinse with tap water by blotting with a clean sponge or dry towel as soon as possible.

RUG CONSTRUCTION- Hand Tufting and Flat Weaving

Tufted rugs are created by punching strands of wool into a canvas that is stretched onto a frame. These rugs offer maximum pattern options and we produce in a high density construction.

Woven rugs are constructed using a loom and interlacing warp (vertical) and weft (horizontal) threads. These rugs are flat fabrics before they are backed and are excellent under rolling traffic. They are also our most economical rugs.
